I’m sick. I have a cold or whatever germs were hanging around the office on Tuesday, since it seemed like everyone was either coughing or sneezing. And I am a delicate flower and want so much to belong that my body is all “come here germs! Infest here, please! LET ME BE PART OF THE PARTY!”
Or I drank for 12 hours on Saturday and it caught up to me. Something or other.
So I’ve been going to bed really early this week. At first I thought it was because of the time change, but then I realized that I should want to go to bed later, not at 8 PM. That’s how I kind of knew something was up.
And there went my Lensolution. Out the window. All that hard work for the last whatever weeks. But if I can post more than 3 times a week from here on out, it will be a win. Mostly because I’ve also been not lazy in other areas, so I’m sure God will be OK with that,
Actually, I am pretty sure what ever good work I may have done in God’s eyes was shattered tonight with the restaurant I went to for dinner.
I’m in Pittsburgh for work. And we went here tonight. It is an old church that they turned into a brewery/restaurant. And they used all the wood from the pews for the tables, chairs and booths. And the vats of beer that they brew? ABOVE THE ALTAR! It is basically what my version of heaven is like.
Cue choir of angels!
And now I shall go to bed. Because the time change is going to kick my ass in the morning, being already an hour ahead in the Eastern time zone plus being sick.

I was really hoping you’d blog about this place after seeing your tweet last night… but MAN, am I bummed that it’s not in Chicago! I was not anticipating it to be in a totally different state. I need to go to Pittsburgh now, “on business”. haha.

Isn’t this place just the coolest? I’ve been there a few times – I live about 2 hours from Pitts and have friends and of course my mother ship IKEA is there!! The food was pretty good but the beer on the alter – how cool is that? I love that they used almost everything in the church – the pews are the seats and why not have the brewery right on the alter? Heck, after working in a bar for awhile now, I’ve seen many customers praying to the beer gods – it’s about time we just brought it right on in!! I bet church attendance would multiply x 100 if beer was served on Saturday night/Sunday mornings… I’m just saying.

For the last 10 days I sounded like Kathleen Turner impersonating a 12 year boy in the midst of puberty. It was so bad, my boss refused to speak to me because “it hurts me to listen to you speak.” Where I picked up the cold is anyone’s guess.
Feel better. I’m of the opinion that booze will kill the germs not bring them to the surface!
Ahh, I LOVE the Church Brew Works! I used to live in Pittsburgh, and my husband wanted to get married at this place. 🙂

One of my FAVORITE bars when I lived in Seattle was called “Chapel” and also had a previous life as a place of worship. Spent many a happy hour working our way through their pages of specialty martinis, some better than others (some tasted like chicken broth…weird).

Poor Kristabella! I too have recently been the victim of the office-borne nasty bug. People who come in when they are sick and cough and sneeze all over the place are one of my pet peeves! I hope you are feeling better soon. And I love the person who made that restaurant. Genius.
It feels so wrong and so right at the same time..like baby Jesus is testing us and we all just failed. Wondering if this is what Jesse James felt like when the tattooed hooker hopped on his desk?

Pittsburgh pretty much kicks ass anyway. I lived there for about 4 years, but I LOVED that town.
Unfortunately, I was not old enough to drink. I may have to make a road trip soon.
