This is going to sound really naive, and maybe it’s because I’ve only been blogging for like a year and a half, but I’m a bit sad to learn that someone people aren’t like their blogs.

If you bring candy, I’ll let you meet my kids too (in other words, I’ll find three neighborhood kids, bribe them and then eat all the candy). I love candy! So glad you two had a nice visit!

This was so sweet and true. It’s sometimes hard to put into words WHY we blog, really, and…man, you captured it. Meeting people like YOU (and Ali!) has definitely been a highlight for me. Can’t wait to see you in just a few days!!

(Oh, and the meat stew? It’s chulent, and the noodle thing? Likely a kugel of some sort. )

I think it is so cute that you were asking what the whole observant Jew thing entailed, and that you knew what that meant from Metalia! When I was younger I went to a religious Jewish summer camp (even though I don’t even come close to being an observant Jew) and it was quite the culture shock all summer long. Girls’ shorts had to be knee-length and I pretty much spent the whole summer pulling the waistband of my shorts halfway down my butt so that the leg length would be ok. HOwever, I think this rather defeated the stated purpose of modesty. Whoops. You and Ali seem to be such cool people and I’m glad your blogs allowed the 2 of you to meet!
